Carretera Sástago-Escatrón km 9 50780 Sástago /Zaragoza (Aragon|Spain)
As the Lower Ebro River passes by Monegros, it caresses the foundations of the Cistercian Monastery of Rueda. This inn occupies what was the monastery and abbot palace built in the 16th-17th centuries, standing next to a rather decrepit Mudajar tower. Founded in 1202 by the monks of Gimont, the historic monument boasts recent renovations that have enhanced its stunning architectural and stylistic values. The cloister, the first nucleus of tourist attraction, conserves its old Benedictine cistern and is perfumed with petunias. Along the corridor lined with bedrooms, the lounges and windows that draw in the sunlight anticipate the classic and pristine nature of the decoration. The lounges of some bedrooms feature striking upholsteries and draperies, contemporary touches here and there, paintings by Félix Adelantado. Bedrooms are warm for their creaminess and their textures; and luminous for their minimalist design. The installations include a library and bodega.
