Calle Rua 16 49300 Puebla de Sanabria /Zamora (Castilla y León|Spain)
This former post office dating from 1736 is sited in the historic center of Puebla, between the main square and the castle and fortress. In the building’s rehabilitation, Paco Somoza has respected the original aesthetic, featuring a façade of local stones, old wooden beams, oak floorboards and slate roofing. The house possesses a gallery, or a Sanabresa-style corridor, dominated by views of the nearby Tera River and city wall. Interors suprise guests with a contemporary decor. Outfitted by Mayado Diseño, the bedrooms are an exercise in good style in which modern and traditional elements come together, predominated by raw colors, natural fibers, wood, steel and glass. The bathrooms deserve special mention for their originality and spaciousness. The cafeteria, which has a doorway that opens to the city wall, is set alongside a lounge, which is enclosed in stone walls. The hotel also has a store with local products and crafts.
