Calle Areatza 38 48620 Plentzia /Vizcaya (Basque Country|Spain)
It’s easy to forget that this rehabilitated country house was once a restaurant. Today it houses just four bedrooms, each of which is very spacious and luminous. Wood and wrought iron compete for attention in the furniture that has a rather classic look from the days when shades of brown and maroon displayed elegance, only here they are set in airy and light spaces. The snug building size justifies its spare room number, just four in all, without a name or number, seeing that it’s the owner’s house. The present kitchen is worth trying; purely Basque fare, grilled dishes and just the right touch of innovative airs.
