Description

Eight kilometers from Oropesa, on the outskirts of a small town called Alcañizo, Los Arcos del Egido receives guests its with the quack-quack of the geese and the appetizing aroma of home cooking. Just four rooms comprise this hidden little house with a rustic and personable ambiance that is decorated with the most diverse variety of family relics. The result is quaint but pleasing, thanks to the efforts of Conchita. Not only does she attend to her guests, she also cooks and creates the cheerful paintings that hang from the walls of the house. The place is colorful and baroque and inviting for those who wish to explore the valleys of Tiétar or Jerte.

THE WORST:

The eclectic design poorly applied at times, and the state of conservation.

ROOMS WE RECOMMEND:

Room number 3 has a double bed and a valuable hand embroidered comforter, an old armoire with mirrors on the doors, an original bathroom, blue walls like the living room, a dressing table full of colorful antique crystal perfume bottles and such and a painting in the style of the Gioconda. Soon the bathroom will include a hydro massage bath. As for the other rooms: Room number 1 has two small beds with white blankets embroidered with flowers that stand out from the wood walls. This room, like the rest have a sitting area with a table and love seats. The Suite, also with two beds, has a handsome dressing table with a mirror and old bronze candlesticks. The sitting area has a classic country décor, and is separated from the bedroom by a curtain. The bathroom features an antique brass bath and a great old chest with two ceramic vases from Oropesa. Room 4, spacious and more isolated, is the only room on the second floor. The antique Imperial that it displays, however, may not be so comfortable for really tall people.
