Calle Cup 2 43893 Altafulla /Tarragona (Catalonia|Spain)
The historic center of Altafulla is crowned by the presence of a fortress, a castle and a convent built in 1732. This former summer residency for the nuns of Santa Teresa de Jesús now houses a stylish hotel. Nestled between age-old walls, the recent acquisition and renovation of the building has introduced a sleek style, outlined by the architect Urbano Rifaterra Espallargas who oversaw the imaginative work of the interior decorator Olatz de Ituarte, the landscape designer Martirià Figueres, and Ferrán Piera, author of the hotel’s commercial image. With a southern look and minimalist semblance, the hotel features geometric lines and Iroco wood in the corridors, teakwood floors in the patio, and playfully contrasting elements like such as the metallic hammocks.
