Carretera de Mérida km 795 41860 Gerena /Sevilla (Andalusia|Spain)
A complex to the likings of Andalusian country residencies. Originally the Convento de los Jerónimos built in the 16th century and used until 1850, the hotel still conserves the chapel honoring the Virgen of Belén with its period frescos. Sited on a large estate of 3,000 hectors, the house has passed through several hands before the Marquees of Casa Oriol bought the property several decades ago. The decoration and noble rigor is the work of Isabel León, Marchioness of Merits. The spacious bedrooms are clad in antique furniture of a classic style, and are touched off with bullfighting and hunting motifs that give them their country flare. All rooms, distinct in shape and size, are located in the house’s most modern wing. They each respond to the name of a Sevillian town. The possibilities of enjoyment are many: in the downstairs living room with its very complete collection of bullfighting paintings, sculptures and literature; in the patios amid lush vegetation and humming fountains… Or with the diverse activities programmed by the hotel, from equitation to deer and wild boar hunting, all-terrain vehicle driving or running with baby bulls in the corral for the most daring.
