Plaza del Castillo s/n 37500 Ciudad Rodrigo /Salamanca (Castilla y León|Spain)
This low and elongated construction with stone walls covered with ivy has undergone constant renovations. Of great historic value, it was originally commissioned by Enrique de Trastamara in the 14th century to protect the occidental boundaries of Castilla along the Águeda River. The building is adjacent to the city walls and very close to the Plaza Mayor. Its commanding tower announces its presence from a distance. Generously equipped bedrooms reveal an inviting and cheerful decoration. Historic objects are displayed throughout the inn, such as armor and medieval tools. Stone arches can be admired in the dinning room and living room outfitted with warm wood and leather furnature. There is a well-groomed garden, and the best views are had from the top of the tower. To visit, guests must request the keys in the reception.
