Carretera de Resoba km 2,500 34840 Cervera de Pisuerga /Palencia (Castilla y León|Spain)
This structure standing six stories high right in the national hunting and fishing reserve could not be built under present-day legislation. Its ocher façade softens the impact of the building on the surrounding landscape. Carrionas, sited to the north of the providence of Palencia, owes its name to the Carrión River. From here the Peeks of Europe, Cantabria and the emblematic Curavacas can be seen. A winding road in continuous ascent from Cervera de Pisuerga leads to this inn. Elegant and formal interiors decorated by Teresa Cordero exhibit stained furniture and cloth covered walls in a bold combination of rustic and modern elements. The ambiance shows interest in popular traditions with its original rural style decorated with locally handcrafted objects. The bedrooms enclose a warm and aromatic ambiance that communes with the high-mountain climate. There is a library and a reading room with many books about the area. There is also a sporting complex and gymnastic obstacles in the woods. The waters of the Ruesgua dame enliven the atmosphere even on grey days.
