Description

A refreshing implementation of modernity amid the often-dry panorama of historic hotels. Pilar Sánchez and Jesús Boroiz have transformed 18th century palatial house into an innovative establishment, with tectonic intervention of their nephew and architect. Outside the building, stunning effect of the neoclassic structure reaches its peek and continues to into the interior spaces. Eclectic décor displaying caramel and terracotta tones. In the lobby, lounge and patio out back stainless steal and laminated glass converge with great archways and itinerary artworks. An equivalent inflection is found in the bedrooms, which are as minimalist as they are classic. These enclose wooden floors and velvet fabrics. Translucent bathrooms with round sink bowls and amenities. In the dinning room too, where breakfast and especially the dinners succumb to the tyranny of contemporary exquisiteness that holds fast to the meaningful content. Time and experience help greatly. All of this in a hotel in the historic center of town, where the name itself, inspired in the tower where the queen Blanca de Navarra was confined, establishes a bridge in time.

SURROUNDINGS:

The town of Olite was court to the kings of Navarra for centuries. And although it detours slightly from the Pilgrim’s Trail to Santiago, it is a place essential to the understanding of the pilgrimage. Many found there way here to ask for strength from St. Peter the Apostle in route from Burgundy. It is therefore opportune to walk around the old historic center and admire the Church of St. Peter and St. Mary, the palatial house of Marquis de Rada, the Town Hall and the other historic buildings in the Plaza of Charles III the Noble. Tapas and shops are abundant along the Rúa Mayor. The Royal Palace can be seen with a guided tour by appointment: 948 74 00 35.
