Question:

Our Critic review

THE WORST:

The hubbub created in the dinning room and around the pool when there is a special event, such as a wedding or banquette. However, the owners don’t usually accept reservations independent of the celebration.

ROOMS WE RECOMMEND:

The suite, for its ample size, measuring 50 square meters.

ROOMS WITH VIEWS:

The hubbub created in the dinning room and around the pool when there is a special event, such as a wedding or banquette. However, the owners don’t usually accept reservations independent of the celebration.

EATING:

Dinning at the hotel tavern is very recommendable; if offers modern Mediterranean cuisine with Basque and French influences, good desserts and a wise selection of wines from there own little bodega. An enjoyable covered terrace. Tel. 948 34 00 75. Menu: over 30 €.

SURROUNDINGS:

Church of the Crucifijo, 12th-century Romanic-gothic. Church of Santiago. Church of San Pedro, gothic from the 16th century; baroque altar; and sculpture of the Virgin of Txori from the 16th century. Baroque organ from the 18th century. Calle Mayor. Plaza Mayor, 18th century. Romanic bridge from the 11th century, the most important along the Pilgrim’s Trail to Santiago Camino de Santiago. Convent of the Comendadoras del Santo Espíritu, 18th century. Artajona, a walled midlevel town (13 km). Estella, historic city (19 km). Tafalla (23 km).

ACTIVITIES:

Horseback riding in Estella (20 km). Peppers and sausages from the small stores in the center of town.
