Camino de Binissaida 108 07720 Es Castell /Menorca (Balearic Islands|Spain)
The old farmhouse of Binissaida, in the locality of Es Castell, has been transformed into a Menorcan lloc with 12 hectares to provide rest and to tighten our bonds with nature. Pine trees and wild olive trees one the one hand, sheep pastures on the other, the terrain unfolds through its trails and rural scenes, like the bread oven or the constantly moving water mill in the reservoir. Nothing here is fake. These contours appear already on paper in the 13th century, once the Catalan conquest of the Balearic Island was consummated, in the handwriting of Jaime II of Majorca himself, although the house buried its foundations about the 18th century, with infinite readjustments until the final version today. When it opened it offered six rooms, but the summer of 2005 has meant the incorporation of five more thanks to the restoration of an old barn built in 1887. The rustic style and the notable presence of stone in the bedrooms and bathrooms is now prominent, in contrast to the flat and bare surfaces of wood, red glass tiles and walls in the restaurant of the building. From the rooms, only the Wagner suite gets a glimpse of the Sant Esteve cove and the entrance to the port of Mahón. The rest show the Sant Joan fields. A pergola above these, a nice swimming pool and a restaurant led by a French chef complete this rapprochement to the Binissaida estate.
