Along with a few other hotels, the Quinta Perestrello can boast about its amazing views of the Funchal bay, but that’s as far as the comparisons go. It is outclassed by rest, at least in regard to the dimension of its gardens and the impact of its vistas. Its four stars are good for a rectangular swimming pool, a well-kept lawn and small yet charming manor. In the hotel there are thick frames on the paintings, twisted lamps, deep carpeting and elegant upholstery or it used to be-, a restaurant that overlooks the bay through its large windows, and discrete un noteworthy bedrooms, un less they come with a balcony.
