Caminho do Monte 192 9050-288 Funchal /Madeira (Madeira|Portugal)
It is in keeping with the style of most of the establishments in the Madeira Island’s capital, but stands out thanks to its amazing views and to the rich vegetation that surrounds it, ideal for stroll or some deep breathing. Between the tropical gardens, a chapel decorated with traditional Portuguese tiles, is the perfect spot to from where to admire the bay. The main house, with a red almost rust color, has a typical Portuguese unchanged interior design: carpeting, floral patterns, thick gold frames, wind chimes, center pieces, porcelain fixtures in other words, outdated. They tried to update the bedrooms design, excluding from it some of the ‘classic’ patina, but sadly all they did was try, leaving behind an ancient style, more so that in the common areas. So it appears that they have lost their personality, but at least they still have the restaurant, located across from the winter garden.
