Rua do Pau de Bandeira 4 1249-021 Lisbon /Lisboa (Lisbon|Portugal)
Within the one of the pulsating centers of Lisbon, one that began to beat just after the devastating earthquake oof 1755, the stately Lapa district was built around this mansion owned by Jacinto Fernández Bandeir, the first Barron of Porto Covo. The building now known as Lapa Palace was constructed 1870 on S. Domingos Street, which is lined with embassies and official buildings. The hotel was originally a present from the Viscount to his son, later a private residency to the Count of Valenças, and came to be known as a palace in 1883. Today it’s simply one of the most emblematic accommodations in the city. Figures including Catherine Deneuve, Cher and Sting have enjoyed the privileges of its panoramic views, and above all, its sumptuous suites. The Lapa Palace transmits lavishness above all. The well-distributed interior space is distributed in three buildings, which are separated by a lush garden that is practically a tropical jungle of flowers and palm trees. The main building encloses the most representative suites and bedrooms, such as the so-called Tower or Count of Valenças. The second unit offers bedrooms that overlook the garden and are characterized by their more casual but equally impeccable decor. The third and most recent building known as the Villa enjoys a private garden and greater independence as well as an array of bedrooms, each of which boast a distinctive personality.
