There are those who attest that Eça de Queirós, the famous Portuguese author, was inspired by his stay in As Janelas Verdes to create some of this works. Of this era and aristocratic life, speak the books, paintings and artworks that complement fine furnishings and bright fabrics. The library, paneled with wood and complete with a fireplace, continues to the checkered terrace that overlooks the Tajo River, a spot as pleasurable as the garden at breakfast time.

SURROUNDINGS:

Castle of San Jorge and Tower of Belém, if one wishes to stay in the city. Magnificent beaches, such as Costa Caparica, less than thirty minutes by car.
