In the lands of La Rioja, Saint Dominique had a hospital built to offer relief to those the travelers on the Pilgrim’s Trail to Santiago. Nine centuries later, the hospital has been made into a splendid inn that stands next to the cathedral. The fitted stone façade identifies the building’s past, and inside its historic character is perceived in the lobby, which boasts gothic arches, stone pillars and handcrafted wood fixtures. The rustic furniture, quality details and good illumination create a warm and cozy ambiance. The comfort and style here makes for an atmosphere that induces sweet dreams.

EATING:
Deer loin with apple purée and potatoes at Tres Coronas de Silos Restaurant, Plaza Mayor, 6 - Tel: 947 39 01 25. Menu: between 21 and 30 €.
SURROUNDINGS:
The church is a must see, for its architectural richness, celebrated alter, imagery, Exempt Tower, walls, House of the Saint. San Millán de la Cogolla, the Castilian cradle and the Human Patrimony with its Monasteries of Suso and Yuso.
ACTIVITIES:
Fishing, hunting and excursions in the Sierra de la Demanda. Golf (4 km.), skiing in Valdezcaray (17 km.)
