The mansion of Dean Ortega, which dates back to the 16th century and completely reformed a century later, has acquired some renown beyond the Spanish frontiers since Jane and Paul Bowles stayed in their rooms. Nothing here is gone to waste. The interior patio with 16 columns that circle the coble stone ground is an aesthetic caprice to retreat from the crowds. After finding oneself in front of two armors and a bicephalous crystal eagle, guests may climb the main stairways to a grand glassed-in corridor that surrounds the cloister.
