Plaza del Marqués 5 23400 Úbeda /Jaén (Andalusia|Spain)
One of the faithful exponents of Úbeda´s noble past. The renaissance façade dates to the 17th century and is adorned with a coat of arms from the Molina family of distinguished lineage in the village. Within the old walls of this house there are two patios that portray the physiognomy of those times: the columned patio served as the vital nucleus of activity, arround which the bedchambers are distributed; a second gardened patio encloses a charming pool, with a wall and fountain like those from the days of of old. With a classic evocation, the hotel boasts tall ceilings, wooden beams, large windows, secular stone walls and noble construction materials, including thick tropical wood, tile and marble floors. Elegance takes shape in the array of handcrafted pieces and artworks placed in each bedroom and every corner of the hotel. Carved wood and stone, Elizabethan furniture, antique fixtures, a 16th-century Spanish table, 18th century manuscripts, copies of renaissance designs in the headboards; these are more than just details in tasteful measure the confection of a stately atmosphere. The bathrooms are hybrids between yesterday and today and emphasize the historicism in bedrooms that are baptized with names of the women in the family.
