Description
Typical Ibizan house sited on a hill far from the flurry of urban landscapes. Its reform and adaptation into a hotel reveals a respect for the local architectural models, by maintaining the rounded-off walls and integrating the structure into the native vegetation. The establishment, belonging to Vicente Marí, is comprised of a main house and a dozen or so little low annexed units. Guests are received in an office-reception with a colonial air that blends the flavors of the island: furniture imported from Bali, a locally handcrafted, sabina wood ceiling beams and whitewashed walls. The bedrooms are all spacious, measuring about 60 square meters, and are equipped to the detail. With a distinct decoration in each, they exhibit latex mattresses on canopy beds and cream-colored comforters. There is a kitchenette and fireplace, which is lit at six in the afternoon every day. Light entering through teakwood window frames create a luminous and romantic effect. Most of the bedrooms are found in the annexed houses, communicated to the main house by stone walkways that are illuminated with more than 300 light bulbs. Each has its own name: Es Ponent, Es Niu, Ses Roques... The bathrooms boast hand-made tiles from Valencia, mirrors from Bali with wooden frames with incrusted shells, and roofs painted indigo blue. The interiors have an amazing artificial illumination. Guests will find diverse welcoming details: a basket of fruit, a bottle of cava and a box of chocolates. The gardens, full of flowers and fruit trees, makes up for the want of more interior common areas. The pool enjoys magnificent views of the pine forest on the estate, and the sea and the Santa Eulalia Bay can be made out in the distance.
