Calle Única 1 22372 San Martín de Solana /Huesca (Aragon|Spain)
It’s well worth taking the time out for a pleasurable stay in the majestic Pyrenees landscape of Huesca in places as gratifying as this inn developed by David Robinson and Mario Reis, from England and Brazil respectively. One thousand years of history contemplate the San Martín estate, formerly owned by the abbot of San Victorian, the oldest monastery in Spain. Today, ninety-two hectors of pine and oak trees are presided by this century-old house that commandingly watches over the valley and the mountains. The structure is built of dark stone and wood that encloses a recital of cozy interior design, triumphant through and through. Two living rooms, one on each floor, exhibit a merry rustic style with ceiling beams and exposed stonework, wooden furniture and warm fireplaces. The bedchambers, each one named after a flower, stand out for their spaciousness, which is especially noteworthy in some of the bathrooms with set wood and lots of character. As for the rest, walls painted with intense colors, printed fabrics, forged iron beds, down comforters, teakwood furniture on the terraces, phenomenal views and mountain comfort. For good food, don’t miss out on the succulent veal in the striking dinning room located in what used to be the hay barn.
