Description
On the edge of a ravine with suggestive views of the Vega del Marqués, stands this building with pure lines and refined details, covered with slate, stucco walls and diaphanous glasses. Its interiors exhibit a sober but elegant decor. Small and certainly austere, the bedrooms surprise guests with original headboards presided by framed photographs of ruins in nearby towns, such as Recópolis. In the spacious and luminous bathrooms, three steps lead to the the bath. The reception, lounge, dinning room and game room are divided in an airy space. Two stories high, the main living room features an enormous central fireplace that is used almost every night of the year and chairs covered with oriental pillows to enjoy panoramic views of the Alcarría region. Upstairs, a painting of Marilyn and Bogart with adequate illumination presides the game room, where a banister contemplates the lounge structure and the fresh clouds on the wall that gives this hotel its name.

EATING:
At the hotel restaurant, directed by the owner’s brother, which uses excellent prime materials. For starters, guests may enjoy Iberian ham, cheeses cured in olive oil, hen croquets, all accompanied by good regional wines.
SURROUNDINGS:
Five kilometers from Albalate stands the Zorita de los Canes Castle, which was of importance in Arab times, as well as the ruins of the Visigoth city of Recópolis. Ten kilometers beyond, Pastrana conserves the palace where the Princess of Eboli was confined.
ACTIVITIES:
The banks of the Tajo offers a place for fishing and taking long walks. The Nueva Sierra urbanization, weekend residency to numerous Madrilians, offers its nautical club to summer vacationers on the banks of the Bolarque reserve. Ideal for different water sports.
