Calle Solarillo de Gracia 1 18002 Granada (Andalusia|Spain)
Granada is one of the cities to have been elected by the hotel chain Hospes to exhibit their radiant hotelier catalog. And it’s not at all a bad place. A palatial home, which recalls Granada’s booming bourgeois of the second half of the 19th century, is now a showroom for a glistening hotel. Its design remains faithful to the canon established by the company in Seville, Alicante and Mallorca, among others. The recovery of the building’s cream-colored facade with a hint of saffron flanked by two white marble swans returns to Granada what is hers, while at the same at the same time it encloses a five-star hotel that is as elegant as it is suggestive. Inside the building, the orthodoxy of this architectural structure that forms part of the city’s historic-artistic patrimony, succumbs to a more accentuated rejuvenation. The result is a kind of contemporary classic style. The more than roomy bedrooms in some cases boast historicism with frescos, warm golden tones, fitted carpets, ornate headboards; and in other instances they envisage the future in which hardwood floors are the only exception to the black and white design, creating an aseptic and lucid expression of a fun, geometric and intelligent aesthetic proposal. The best examples are the ceilings: some reminiscent of an aristocratic era, while others project to times yet to come.
