Cuesta de la Victoria 9 18010 Granada (Andalusia|Spain)
This late 15th century house stands to the end of the Paseo de los Tristes at the feet of the majestic Alhambra, where the Darro River and the Cuesta del Chapiz come to a close in the Albayzín neighborhood. Rehabilitated with infinite patience by the architect Carlos Sánchez and his wife María Jesús, the simplicity of its façade contrasts with interiors that reveal a Moorish jewel, replete with archways, original Arab tiles and polychromatic wooden ceilings inscribed with calligraphy. Two floors of bedrooms wrap around a columned patio with a refreshing decorative pool humming in the center. Along the passageways stones, arches, hinges and shutters all chatter away. The tower of the Alhambra is seen from the garden in all its splendor.

The rectangular special double conserves a magnificent polychromatic crafted wood ceiling, which for centuries was ignored and covered by a false roof. Room number 15 has intricate craftwork and the best views.

It’s not often that the restoration of a neglected building with historic value achieves such a spectacular and refined result.
Hotel Casa Morisca, located in a privileged spot at the feet of the Alhambra in the low Albayzín, it splendidly exemplifies a respect for the building’s original structure, which corresponds to a late 15th-century Moorish house.
It is not in vain that this establishment has received awards, such as Europa Nostra 2001, granted for outstanding hostelry initiatives in the magazine Gran Hotel y Prestigio Hotelero 2002, published by the City Hall of Granada.
Around an exquisite central patio there are 14 bedrooms, all are different, very serene and reveal thoughtful details. Several rooms enjoy magnificent views of the Alhambra and Generalife.
