Avenida Mas Les Cols 2 17800 Olot /Girona (Catalonia|Spain)
You have to see it to believe it, or better yet, live it. Next to the black and gold restaurant of chrome and glass in a farm that may seem conventional at first sight. Five bedrooms, which they call pavilions, have been added on to the establishment. Their style is in consonance with the dictates of the RCR Aranda Pigem Vilalta architectural studio. In a futurist rendition of the culinary module where guests may sink their teeth into tradition, is the organic microcosms formed if glass cubicles that are transparent and fragmented by the emerald reflections that hide a solitary green mattress. Sofa, bed and table, all in one. Under foot, the illusion of undulating lava is reminiscent of the volcanic La Garrotxa. Above, the open sky. And in the bathroom, a sink bowl with a constant stream of water and a distinctive shower built of stone walls. A language devoid of superfluous layers, a dialog with nature, a true experience. Rural matrix, yes sir.

Each pavilion responds to the same proposal, which for its revolutionary spirit deserves equal recommendation.
The Les Cols Restaurant, of course. It has an impacting design carried out by the RCR architects and a no less suggestive cuisine, with a Michelin star included.
Without leaving Olot, visitors can admire some of the buildings designed by the team of architects comprised by Aranda, Pigem and Vilalta, natives of the area: the athletic stadium within the Tussols Basil recreation area, complete with the Bath Pavilion. Also, the Roser House, the Lookout Point House, M-Lidia House in Montagut; and the astounding nursery in Manlleu.
Judit offers necessary information to embark on excursions along the volcanic trails.
