Lagos, to the western corner of Algarve, and therefore the Iberian Peninsula. This area with low tourist impact still reveals a great part of its Arab influx. Its proximity to Morocco makes the town and Casa Mora a mirror in which reflections of northern Africa are appreciated. It should come as little surprise that the owners of this hotel went hunting in Morocco for handcrafts and antiques; the bedrooms evoke cities of that country. Tiles, Berber rugs, lanterns and exulting colors all converge here, free of undue stridencies and luxuries. A terracotta patio and a narrow swimming pool retreat in the privacy of a snug solarium. The dinning room on the top floor, with suggestive draperies along the ceiling, overlook the bay and recreational port from above the irregularly set white houses of Lagos.
