Aldeia da Serra 7170-120 Redondo /Évora (Alentejo|Portugal)
Built in 1182 and sited halfway between Estremoz and Redondo, on the skirts of Serra d´Ossa. Over the centuries it has given shelter to illustrious figures such as Sebastião, João IV and Catarina de Bragança. Today the hotel conserves treasures for their guests, including an extensive collection of Portuguese tiles, as well as frescos, terracotta bas-reliefs, a Florentine fountain and the original church as well. Old monastic cells enclose luxury bedchambers, while suites unfold in markedly more roomy spaces.
