Calle Calçada do Convento s/n 3400-758 Vila Pouca de Beira /Coimbra (Beira Litoral|Portugal)
This monastery has two things other than its undeniable historical value: the Estrela mountain range rising from the horizon and the ski station in the mountain range, small and with little snow but unique, after all, in the entire Portuguese territory. The origins of the building go back to 1780 when it was built by order of the bishop and count Dom Francisco de Lemos de Faria Pereira. It arrives to us today as another attraction to come to this scarcely frequented place. A cloister protected behind glass windows, a baroque church, halls with views and bedrooms happily adapted to our times coexist in this monastic building dominated by Gregorian echoes.

116, 117, 118 and 119, located on the upper floor, are spacious, well heated and sufficiently welcoming. They are convincing due to the height of their ceilings and their original entrance, a glass pane from the floor to the ceiling and a curtain as a second door. Furthermore, they offer from their terraces incredible views upon the plains of Oliveira do Hospital and the Estrela mountain range.
In the pousada itself, where you can appreciate traditional cooking specializing in cod and the Oliveira do Hospital-style tigelada.
Do not miss the natural park of Serra da Estrela, of course, which extends from Coimbra to the frontier with Spain. Glacier lakes and valleys alternate with high granite peaks. The highest point of continental Portugal projects amid its forests.
