Plaza Waldo Ferrer s/n 13400 Almadén /Ciudad Real (Castilla-La Mancha|Spain)
Opened in 1752 at the birth of bullfighting, this ring with a hexagonal form and a two story gallery is a valued historic and touristic monument for its original stone and wood structure. The bedrooms all face the street and reveal a simple style in their size and in their decoration. These have pictures of bullfighters and typical forged iron fixtures on the walls that are painted shades of peach, pastel blue and green. Some transform into a duplexes and other have direct entrance to the street, offering a bit of independence and privacy hard to come by. The Suite has a spectacular canopy bed and releases a romantic air ideal for couples. The service however is quite scarce; they are slow to replace the minibar or a burned out light bulbs, and the reception offers only minimum services. But, as far as gastronomy goes, the hotel affords a tavern, a dinning room, a restaurant a la carte… When the weather is good it’s possible dine on the terrace and savor peppers filled with ox tails, eggplant and steaks with views of the arena. The bodega has a wide selection of national wines and the decoration pays tribute to Curro Guillén, Paquiro, Cúchares, Lagartijo, Costillares and other great bullfighters.
