Description

It would not be easy to explain to José Cabral, descendant from the conqueror of Brasil, that the lands he donated to the Third Order of the Franciscans for them to found the monastery of Nostra Senhora da Esperança in 1563 house, five centuries later, this pousada, proud of its intact structure upon the Zêzere River and the Estrela mountain range. Its interiors adequately combine their Portuguese rusticism with the ornamental philosophy of minimalism. The patio surprises us with its solid fitted stone block walls covered in a sort of Plexiglas marquee that creates an original enveloping effect during the night and is nice to look at during the day, with its exhibition of watercolors accompanied by classical music.
Would you like to know what other pleasures are hidden in this pousada? Fernando Gallardo reveals it all.
