Barrio La Bárcena s/n 39815 Valle /Cantabria (Cantabria|Spain)
In the palatial 17th century architecture of the small town, Valle de Ruesga, it’s the towers that give these manors their sober and elegant style. Without economic and familiar impediments, the owner Carmen Caprile, has seen her lifelong dream come true: give character to the area of rural hospitality. Her husband, an engineer and solitary navigator, accompanies her in this venture. He offers to take the gusts out for a swing in sailboat in the broad Laredo Bay, if they so desire. The building’s façade, protected by two vast elevated towers with a stone-carved shield of arms, deserved to enter the dawn of a new millennium with a more domestic ambiance. The restoration was an arduous and especially delicate process of assuring the security of the stone structure, changing the labyrinth of electrical wiring and tending to the other factors in order to introduce new materials. The owner mentioned that the renovation was carried out by the same specialists responsible for the restoration of the Santa María de El Paular Monastery. The rooms are well outfitted down the to the last details. Noteworthy is the variety and spaciousness of the common living spaces, all at the disposition of the guests who are treated like true nobility here. The glassed-in space, especially enjoyable for reading or having coffee in the winter; the foyer, with its stone grand stairway; the restaurant and private dinning room; three sitting rooms, communicated with one another, which house a valuable library and handsome game room. The entire first floor displays all the original wooden roof beams. The estate at presents extends to the adjacent pool, sauna and changing rooms and includes a section of meadow, which is devoured by Rodolfo, the pet mule.
