Description

The old Palacio de Vedruna recovered by the Egyptologist Jordi Clos, enjoys a luxury location on one of the most elegant streets the Eixample neighborhood of Barcelona, between the streets of Pau Clarís and Valencia, very close to the Paseo de Gracia. The architecture, endorsed by names such as Bohigas, Mackay and Martorell, has a stunning neoclassic façade, decorated with diverse floral ornaments like the Flower of Liz and the Verdrunda coat of arms. The hotel’s main attractions are its top-notch equipment and luxury design that combines the purest 18th-century style with contemporary touches. Unique artworks are exhibited throughout the house, such as a Hindu goddess with over 1,600 years of antiquity, an original print of Napoleon from 1812 and pieces of 17th-century English furniture. And just entering the lobby, a 15th-century Roman mosaic. The bedrooms, perfectly soundproofed, display marabou wood floors and maple wood walls with details in marquetry. A precious Japanese garden reveals a play of water.

EATING:

The hotel has a five-star restaurant, East 47, specialized in the cuisine of the Ampurdan. It’s a tight space with New York atmosphere, exemplified by three authentic prints by Andy Warhol.
