Calle de Vadillo 8 05560 Villatoro /Ávila (Castilla y León|Spain)
Villatoro Castle, tucked inside the Gredos mountain range, was founded in the 16th century by king Alfonso XI in favor of the bishop Don Sancho Dávila. In 1949, after having been in ruins for two hounded years, the castle was declared a national monument. Today, the Posada Torre del Mayorazgo encloses hearths, wood-beamed ceilings and ceramic tile floors in a low brick stone construction surrounded by stables and a tower, which is the only original part still remaining. The interiors décor displays simple rustic elements to ornament the spaces that stand out for their intimacy, cleanliness and spaciousness. The inn also has apartments for two and four people, complete with their own living room, kitchen and bathroom. In the central patio stands the authentic well, around which rooms are distributed.

The Duplex number 4 is especially noteworthy, with the original fireplace and walls of the castle. The kitchen is equipped with a vitroceramic stove and a microwave. Both the kitchen and the living room are located on the first floor, and upstairs is the bedroom with sloped wood ceilings.
