Description

This chalet, located in the Sierra de Gredos, is just as enticing as can be. Escaping the customary commotion of Madrid and London the owners of the hotel, Francisco S. Rico and Teresa Dorn, came here to revolutionize the hostelry in Avila. They founded the hotel, enlarged it, and continue to innovate commodities for their guests. The rooms, some featuring sloped ceilings, are all perfectly equipped. As for additional installations, there is a conference room, gym, a library with 2,000 volumes that guests are welcome to use, in addition to the living room with fireplace. And for astronomy enthusiasts, they have habilitated a powerful field telescope to a computer program that searches for stars. The annex that the owners built encloses six thematic rooms with cultural and cosmopolitan flavors. These spacious rooms measuring between 45 and 50 square meters reveal different ambiances: bedroom, living room, outdoor terrace looking over a garden with decorative pools and cascades. The interior design is exclusive in each of the rooms and recreates different styles: Colonial, Nordic, Japanese, English, Arab and Provencal. And to create even more ambiance, a small selection of monographic books and videos are available to guests.

ROOMS WE RECOMMEND:

The bedrooms with themes stand out in particular, such as the suites: Colonial, Arab, Japanese or Nordic, which have sloping ceilings. But above all the new Millennium Suite. The decoration is in accord the worlds they evoke, and there are other surprising complements too, like books and movies related to the theme.

EATING:

At the hotel, where they prepare creative cuisine. Splendid gourmet breakfasts. Tasting menu at lunchtime: 35 €.
