Description
For several years Avelino Gutiérrez, the owner of the celebrated restaurant located on the property, has managed this pristine modernist palace that rests in the middle of a garden designed by Cecilio Rodríguez. The architectural structure was developed in 1912 by an apprentice of Gaudí, who saw through to completion the art nouveau building, unprecedented in the region. A great part of the original decoration, including upholstery and vases, has been very well conserved, to the point that the entire building was declared an artistic monument. Some guest may even have the sensation of being in a museum at times. Stairways that wrap up and around, oval balconies, an entrance hall of glass and ceramic tiles and concaved bedroom ceilings shares similarities with some renowned houses in Barcelona. So elaborate, it’s almost kitch. The conscientious reforms undertaken by the owners have left the place in a healthy state, magazine material. Without a trace of humidity, the hotel features a new bedroom in the tower with a domed ceiling and a manicured English style garden with views of the Ribadeo River.

THE WORST:
Not enough service to attend a hotel of this category. Before the renovation it was justified because of the architectural deterioration, but considering how much is charged for a nights stay, one would expect a higher level of service. A scarce number of personnel to cover all the positions in the hotel.

Hotel recommendations
This grouping of modernist palatial buildings was created by one of Gaudi´s apprentices. It is surrounded by an English style park with very old trees, some of which were brought over room America, and it offers exceptional views if the Ribadeo River, Cantabric Sea and the Montes de los Oscos.
The 23 rooms are each decorated with entirely different shapes and forms. Outfitted with all an array of amenities to make your stay satisfactory, be it for work or vocational purposes. The majority of the rooms have hydro message bathtubs and wireless Internet connection.
There are five rooms equipped to host large celebrations, such as weddings, business conventions; even government councils of the Principado de Asturias have carried out meetings in these facilities.
