Be sure the visit the Café de Vicente next to the market, run by the owner of the hotel, Vicente Alonso. There you many enjoy an aperitif or coffee. Now is the time to pick up marzipan apples, an authentic treat of Villaviciosa.

Dinner may be had in Bedriñana: octopus with potatoes, stuffed peppers, cabracho cake… and plenty of good cider.

And, of course, the Conventín, palatine church constructed under Alfonso II the Great en the 9th century. The cider museum in Nava, also deserves a quick visit.

Real Site of Covadonga, climb up to the lakes and take a photo in an among the cows and another under the Roman bridge; eat in the Mesón del Abuelo or the Asturias Cider House for 12 € per person or a signature cuisine in one of the best restaurants in the area, El Corral del Indiano, 5 km. away in the center of Arriondas. -DON´T FORGET CABRALES: Picos de Europa, highways exit AS-17 from Cangas de Onís a Panes, where the Naranjo de Bulnes can be admired or the impressive view from the Viewpoint of Camarmeña. For the more daring, the Route of Cares and the impresindible Cabrales Cheese and Cider Route that visits caves where cheese is made and cider house with lunch or dinner included for 22 € per person, a unique experience. Another possibility for an excellent gastronomic experience is Cares Restaurant, Austurian cuisine and good prices. -VISTING LLANES: walk along the jetty aside the artistic installation entitled Blocks of Memory, a few photos, pick up a souvenir in one of the stores next to dock and look for the Restaurant la Terraza in one of the narrow streets of the historic center to have some good from the Cantabric Sea. -WHEN YOU GO TO ARRIONDAS: arrive early and canoe down the Sella River for 23 € per person, including a picnic and return to point of departure. Or go for a horseback ride for 15 € per person for one hour. Call Frontera Verde : 985841457 and 616187979. -IN RIBADESELLA: walk around the port, you’ll find tapas and daily menus at a good prices in the cider houses in front of the port and river: Basilio Cider House y El Carroceu Cider House, daily menus from 12 € and good tapas between 4 and 6 € , more photos in the mouth of the Sella River. -LASTRES: is another kind of marine town where it’s possible to visit the fish market and the Jurassic Museum of Asturias, admission 5 €, located 3 Km. heading towards Colunga. In Lastres we recommend having lunch or dinner at the Eutimio Restaurant 985850012 (reserve a window table), looking out upon the Cantabric Sea, traditional and signature cuisine, one of the places that we like most for their meticulous attention, service and installations. -CUDILLERO FISHING PORT: walk up for a view of the port, enjoy seafood in one of the restaurants in the center of town such as: Restaurant Santiago or Dimas Seafood Restaurant, for a seafood platter for two at 60 €, or a stew for two at 65 €, and at 5:00 pm watch the fishing boats coming in to sell their catch in the market. -HEADING INLAND BY HIGHWAY WE COME TO OVIEDO: 20 minutes from the hotel, leave the car in the parking lot of the Escandelera that is next to the Campoamor Theater. At 100 meters is the Historic Center, Cathedral and Archeological Museum. Walk around and admire the old buildings until you arrive at the Fontán Market. In the Ayuntamiento Plaza there are very good restaurants such as: Faro Vidio, La Arrocería or El Raitán... Before heading back tot eh car, take some photos in the Botero´s plump lady and another on Uría Street with Woody Allen. -AND NOW IN VILLAVICIOSA: departing point from to all of these places, less than one hour away. Here, you mustn’t miss out on the guided tour for 3 € that takes you to San Salvador de Valdediós, Preromanic church consecrated in 893, found in the the historic center. Along the Villaviciosa River, take a boat ride to go bird watching for 10 € per person, until you arrive at the Port of Tazones where of course you won’t miss out on the seafood cuisine for 27 € per person in the La Sirena Cider House. Likewise, the ambiance of the Austurian cider houses in Bedriñana or in the Cañu where you can have a bottle of cider for 2,10 € accompanied with light tapas such as: llámpares 9 €, clams ¨a la marinera¨ 14 € , blood sasuage pate 6 €, or a daily menu with Austurian dishes and cider for 15 € a person. The visit to these places does not cost anything, you can have a look, walk around, enjoy, relax… only the consummation and visits we’ve selected have an additional cost.
